Q: How can I apply to be one of the Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) Designers in Residence (DIR)?

A: CFI DIR spend a year long residency at Macy's on State Street. Each year, in the middle of August, a downloadable application is available online. Visit the apply page to download the application.

Q: I would like an apparel design, marketing, merchandising, accounting, or graphic design internship with one of the Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) Designers in Residence (DIR), Associate Designers (AD), or Alumni, how do I apply?

A: Please visit the designer section of our website. There you will find pages listing the CFI designers and alumni as well as their websites and contact information. The Chicago Fashion Incubator also has internships available. To find out more click here.

Q: Can I volunteer to help at Chicago Fashion Incubator Events?

A: We are always looking for help at events. Email us at volunteer@chicagofashionincubator.org and let us know what event you would like to volunteer at. To find out about upcoming events, visit our events page.

Q: How can I sell my clothing and or jewelry line at Macy's on State Street?

A: While the Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) is located at Macy's on State Street, we are a separate 501c3 non-profit organization and therefore are not affiliated with the Chicago Designer Shop at Macy's on State Street. Macy's on State Street hosts an annual open call for designers called "Distinction in Design" that allows local designers to show their collections to buyers at Macy's on State Street. Distinction in Design 2010 is slated for September 10th, 2010 from 10am-2pm. Line up early to ensure you get your collection will be viewed.

Q: What are the requirements to be eligible to be a Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) Designer in Residence (DIR)?
