Intern at the Chicago Fashion Incubator

The Chicago Fashion Incubator is continuously accepting applications for Internship positions.

All of our internships are unpaid, but if eligible, you may receive class credit. Each position will be 16-20 hours per week, preferably with two days per week.

Candidates must have their own lap top computer to work from for the duration of the internship, with the understanding that all documents, images, files, and folders containing CFI information are proprietary and must be transferred back to the Executive Director at the end of the internship.

Media Relations: Intern Job Description

Requirements:

Candidates must be responsible, organized, trustworthy, self motivated, and detail oriented. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills. The internship calls for proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Adobe Suite. The Candidate must be comfortable working with social media, including but not limited to Blogger, Twitter, and Facebook. The Intern will also be working with Constant Contact and Survey Money.

General Description:

The Media intern will help to assist the Executive Director with social media and marketing tasks. Some marketing responsibilities include:

- Updating the Chicago Fashion Incubator Blog, Website, Facebook, and Twitter Pages.
- Creating and sending .jpg invites for special events and messages to our constituents
- Creating and updating media kits
- Creating and updating eblasts, surveys, and mailing lists in Survey Monkey and in Constant Contact
- Working with current and alumnae Designers in Residence (DIR) to update social media
- Working one-on-one with the Director to assist with media relations
- Assisting with marketing and event production for special events
- Working with the Director to increase the organization's outreach and available resources
- Any other tasks pertinent to marketing and media as necessary under the direction of the Executive Director

Resource Center Researcher: Intern Job Description

Requirements:

General Description:

The Resource Center Intern will help to assist the Executive Director in the development of the Resource Center through research. Some responsibilities include:


- Working on the Resource Center Research Document by updating resource categories. For example, researching pricing for various subscriptions, books, suppliers, computer programs, etc.
- Gathering contacts, websites, etc. for various resource categories
- Working with the Executive Director to create and distribute designer surveys to better understand what resources designers would like to see at the resource center
- General help with research and development as directed by the Executive Director.
